Putin orders three-day halt to Kyiv strikes ahead of US delegation visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday ordered a three-day pause in airstrikes on Kyiv as part of preparations to receive a US delegation.

According to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Putin had decided to halt all airstrikes on Kyiv for three days, starting from midnight, due to the arrival of American negotiators preparing and holding talks there.

Peskov urged against speculation about possible settlement proposals, saying it was best to wait for Putin's meeting with the US negotiators.

He added that the Kremlin would brief the media on the outcome of Putin's meeting with US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump.

Earlier in the day, US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump, arrived in Moscow to hold talks on Ukraine.
