Putin orders three-day halt to strikes on Kyiv ahead of US delegation visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday ordered a three-day suspension of strikes on Kyiv as part of preparations to receive a US delegation.

According to Russia's Sputnik news agency, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, "President Vladimir Putin has decided to halt all airstrikes on Kyiv for three days, starting from midnight tonight. This is due to preparations by American negotiators and the upcoming talks there."

Peskov urged against speculation about possible settlement proposals and called for patience until President Putin meets with the American negotiators.

Peskov added that the Kremlin will brief the media on the outcome of President Putin's meeting with US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former President Donald Trump.

Earlier today, US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow to hold talks on Ukraine.
