China's Xi urges US and Iran to resume negotiations

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged the United States and Iran to swiftly return to negotiations to resolve their differences, according to the Xinhua news agency.

Xinhua reported that Xi expressed China's support for the return of both countries to the "Islamabad memorandum of understanding," aiming to restart the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran.

Xi is currently on a state visit to the United States, which will continue until Friday. During the visit, he is meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss several issues, including the Taiwan question, developments related to tensions involving Iran, trade relations between Washington and Beijing, and artificial intelligence.

Xi's visit comes amid multiple disputes between the United States and China, as tensions over Iran persist. Beijing continues to emphasize its support for resolving issues through dialogue and negotiation.
