Palestinian Foreign Ministry welcomes Belgian ban on Israeli settlement goods

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the Belgian government's decision to ban the import of products originating from illegal Israeli settlements established on occupied Palestinian land, including Jerusalem.

The ministry stated that this decision, adopted by Belgium's federal cabinet, represents a significant step that aligns with international law.

According to the ministry's statement, the Belgian move reflects the Kingdom of Belgium and its government's commitment to the principles of international justice and respect for international law, and is consistent with the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory, including Jerusalem.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry also welcomed growing European support for such legal measures, describing it as a practical application of the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion.
