Saudi students win two gold medals at International Nuclear Science Olympiad

Abdulaziz Al-Kuraidis, Secretary-General of the Mawhiba Foundation, said that Saudi Arabia is celebrating the achievements of its students in nuclear science after winning two gold medals, coinciding with the Kingdom's first-time hosting of the International Olympiad with the participation of 19 countries.

In a phone interview with Al Ekhbariya TV, he added that this success follows the royal directive for Saudi Arabia to host the International Nuclear Science Olympiad for the first time, with the involvement of participating countries.

He continued that, with the support of the Ministry of Education and partner organizations, the Kingdom is celebrating unprecedented achievements in this field, noting that Saudi students received several medals and certificates of appreciation from judging panels representing various countries.

The third edition of the International Nuclear Science Olympiad "INSO 2026" concluded in Jeddah. The event, hosted by Saudi Arabia, brought together 120 students and scientific specialists from 19 countries under the theme "Brilliant Minds for a Promising Future."

The third edition of the Olympiad was organized in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, and hosted by King Abdulaziz University. This marks the first time the Olympiad has been held in the Middle East.
