Trump vows crushing defeat for Iran after attacks on US sites in Jordan

Former US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he is considering strikes against Iran's proxies following attacks targeting American sites in Jordan.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump described Iran-backed militias as a "cancer of the world," adding that the United States would respond forcefully to any assaults on its forces in the region.

Trump noted that strikes carried out against Iran-backed militias were coordinated with the Iraqi government.

He warned, "We will teach Iran a harsh lesson and it will suffer a crushing defeat," stressing that the United States would strike Iran hard if threats continued.

Meanwhile, the US military earlier announced it had intercepted several ballistic missiles launched by Tehran toward American forces in the Middle East.
