Trump calls Iran a failed state after US strikes on Larak Island

US President Donald Trump said Iran's inflation rate has reached 300 percent and that its leadership is in complete disarray, unable to represent the country properly.

Trump added that Iran has officially become a failed state, lacking a navy, an air force, or a valuable currency, following US military strikes on Iran's Larak Island.

The US strikes targeted Iranian attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz and aimed to prevent Tehran from controlling the vital waterway.

Negotiations between the United States and Iran have stalled over Tehran's insistence on controlling the Strait of Hormuz, through which one-fifth of the world's energy supplies pass, while Washington seeks safe and free navigation in the strait.
