Israeli occupation forces have withdrawn from the city of Hebron in the West Bank after a 10-day military operation.

Al Arabiya/Al Hadath correspondent reported on Monday that Israeli troops left the Jalda and Deir Baha neighborhoods in the city.

Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin announced the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from all districts and areas of the city, urging displaced residents to return to their homes.

Israel had launched a large-scale military operation in Hebron, during which troops raided and demolished several homes and arrested dozens of Palestinians, leading to the displacement of more than 3,300 people.

Israeli forces also imposed a strict siege on the city, set up checkpoints, and closed schools and universities for several days.

The Israeli military said the operation was aimed at combating terrorism, describing it as a response to a shooting attack near the city on October 23 that killed two Israeli soldiers and wounded three others. The two Palestinian suspects, both Hebron residents, were also killed.

Since the outbreak of the war in Gaza on October 7, 2023, the West Bank has witnessed a surge in attacks by Israeli settlers, which intensified ahead of the Israeli legislative elections held on October 27.
