Iraq warns militias: those defying arms control face anti-terror law

Iraq's State Administration Coalition has reiterated its firm rejection of the country's territory being used to launch attacks against neighboring states, emphasizing the importance of respecting Iraq's sovereignty and regional relations.

In a statement, the coalition stressed that ensuring all weapons are under state control is a top priority for maintaining internal security and stability, describing it as a key step toward strengthening state authority.

The coalition warned that any armed faction refusing to comply with the arms monopoly after the set deadline will be prosecuted under Iraq's anti-terrorism law.

The coalition also reaffirmed its support for the government in continuing to implement strict measures against illegal armed groups, aiming to reinforce security and uphold Iraqi sovereignty.
