Iraqi parliament speaker says Iraq opposes use of its territory for attacks

Iraqi Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi has affirmed that Iraq will not allow its territory to be used to target any country, stressing the government's commitment to preventing such actions.

Halbousi explained that Iraq's relations with its Arab neighbors have been strained recently due to the presence of factions acting on behalf of foreign states.

He added that the Iraqi constitution prohibits any weapons outside state control, calling for adherence to national laws and sovereignty.

Halbousi also noted that Iraq had previously faced sanctions, emphasizing the country's desire to avoid repeating that experience.
