US State Department: Hezbollah will not recover under Trump administration

The US State Department has stated that Hezbollah will never recover under President Donald Trump's administration, emphasizing the continuation of financial sanctions against the group.

The department said Hezbollah has brought misery to Lebanon and its people by waging a proxy war on behalf of Iran, and dismissed the group's claims of receiving millions of dollars from Iran as untrue.

The State Department added that it will keep tightening financial restrictions on Hezbollah through sanctions, while also supporting the Lebanese government’s efforts to rebuild the south of the country.
