Egypt condemns Israeli airstrikes on Abu al-Duhur military airport in Syria

Egypt has condemned Israeli airstrikes that targeted Abu al-Duhur military airport in Idlib province, Syrian Arab Republic.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack constitutes a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and is a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.

Egypt reiterated its complete rejection of Israel’s ongoing violations of Syrian territory, describing such attacks as a dangerous escalation that undermines efforts to support stability in Syria and the wider region, and threatens regional peace and security. The statement stressed the urgent need to prioritize political solutions, reduce tensions, and create conditions conducive to restoring security and stability in Syria and preserving the country’s resources.

Egypt also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in putting an end to Israel’s repeated violations and halting the policy of imposing faits accomplis by force, in order to help contain the escalating cycles of tension in the region.
