Pentagon delays disclosure of US troop casualties in Iran conflict

The US Department of Defense has decided to delay the announcement of American troop casualties in the conflict with Iran.

The Pentagon says the move is intended to protect US forces in the region, as US Central Command has suspended the immediate release of casualty figures, according to Al Arabiya.

US media reports, citing officials, indicate that documenting casualties could take several days or even weeks due to medical assessment and review procedures, with the database being updated regularly.

Pentagon spokesperson Sean Barnell said that releasing casualty information immediately could provide US adversaries with details that might endanger more than 50,000 American troops deployed across the Middle East.
