Netanyahu vows to topple Iranian regime, warns Tehran against attack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday renewed his threats to topple the Iranian regime, stressing Israel’s determination to continue its actions against Tehran.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting marking the Jewish New Year, Netanyahu said that bringing down the Iranian regime is a priority for Israel, warning that Tehran would face an “unimaginable” blow if it decided to attack Israel.

Netanyahu described the Iranian regime as “weak, fighting for its survival and floundering,” adding that it is nearing its end. He emphasized that Israel still has “another mission” to complete, referring to the overthrow of the Iranian regime.

Netanyahu’s remarks come as part of his repeated statements regarding the future of Iran’s leadership.

On Thursday, he said that toppling the regime in Iran is “within reach,” claiming it is weaker than ever, especially in light of the war that broke out on February 28 between Tehran, Washington, and Tel Aviv.

In a media interview on Wednesday, Netanyahu reiterated his threat, saying: “We will bring down the regime in Iran, and it will fall. All our agencies are working to topple the regime,” adding that if Iran decides to attack Israel, it should know this would be “one of its last decisions.”

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned two days ago that Israel would strike Iran’s civilian infrastructure and energy sector if Tehran attacked, amid a sudden escalation in hostilities between Washington and Tehran.

In a related development, the Israeli military launched a surprise General Staff-level drill on Sunday morning to test its readiness for a sudden multi-front scenario.
