The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday that it had completed a new round of military strikes against Iran, targeting military command centers, naval assets, missile and drone launch sites, as well as air defense systems.

In a statement, CENTCOM said the strikes aimed to undermine Iran's ability to continue attacking commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, while affirming that navigation through the vital waterway remains ongoing.

CENTCOM added that since early May, its forces have helped secure the passage of around 900 commercial ships and the transport of nearly 450 million barrels of crude oil through the strait.

The US Central Command stressed that its forces remain ready to respond to any unjustified aggression by Iran targeting civilian mariners or threatening freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
