The Hasakah Media Directorate in Syria reported on Tuesday that groups described as "outlaws" carried out attacks targeting several internal security offices in the cities of Hasakah and Qamishli, following recent developments in Ras al-Ain.

In a statement, the directorate said that groups in Hasakah removed the Syrian Arab Republic flag from one of the internal security offices and assaulted it, while other groups attacked security personnel inside an office in Qamishli.

The attacks also resulted in the destruction of several internal security vehicles, as both cities saw an increased deployment of internal security forces at a number of locations.

The directorate explained that the security reinforcement aims to contain tensions, maintain public order, and safeguard citizens and both public and private property.
