Yemeni armed forces target Houthi positions in Marib and Taiz

Yemen’s armed forces have intensified operations against the Houthi group on several fronts, targeting positions, gatherings, missile launch platforms, radar, and communications equipment in Marib and Taiz provinces, alongside continued strikes on Houthi locations along the western coast.

The armed forces announced on Tuesday that airstrikes targeted Houthi gatherings and barracks in the northwest of Marib province, while ground forces shelled military sites in the north and west of the province, in addition to striking missile launch platforms, radar, and communications systems.

In Taiz, field sources reported that military aircraft bombed missile platforms at Taiz airport and targeted Houthi positions in Khadir district in the south of the province.

These operations follow an announcement by the official spokesperson for Yemen’s armed forces, Colonel Majed Al-Nazili, on Monday regarding strikes against Houthi movements, personnel, and equipment on the western coast.

Al-Nazili explained that the operations also targeted headquarters previously seized and used by the group for military purposes in the Dhubab and Al-Khokha areas.

Amid ongoing military operations, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees announced on Tuesday that more than 100,000 people have been displaced within Yemen since fighting resumed between the Houthis and government forces, while recent developments have forced thousands more to seek refuge in Djibouti across the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.
