Iranian Revolutionary Guard reports explosions halt two oil tankers in Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced on Monday that two oil tankers were hit by explosions while attempting to cross the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, causing both vessels to stop.

In a statement carried by the Iranian ISNA news agency, the Guard said the southern route of the strait is unsafe, noting that the tankers tried to enter and exit the area with support from the US military.

The statement added that the tankers were rendered out of service following the explosions during their attempted passage.
