Trump says war with Iran nearing its end

US President Donald Trump said the war is nearing its end, just hours after the US House of Representatives voted to restrict military operations in Iran.

Responding to a question about the current conflict, Trump stated: "We are in the final stages of the war with Iran," adding that Tehran is eager to reach a deal. "They very much want to make a deal. We will see how things go," he said.

In a separate context, Trump warned that the European Union allowing Canada to join as an associate member would be considered a "hostile act," and threatened to impose further tariffs.

Trump linked his threat to the "intentions" of European leaders, saying: "If the intentions are good, that's fine. But if the intentions are bad, we will impose very high tariffs on Europe," and warned that the US could halt trade with Europe in certain sectors.
