Lebanese president reaffirms commitment to diplomacy with Israel

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has reiterated his country’s determination to end hostilities with Israel through diplomatic means rather than conflict. His remarks came during a meeting with Greek President Konstantinos Tasoulas in Athens.

Aoun stated that negotiations with Israel aim to bring an end to enmity, noting that the Lebanese people have been exhausted by wars. He emphasized that stability in Lebanon is crucial for the security of both the region and Europe.

The Lebanese president warned that any instability in Lebanon could have far-reaching negative consequences, and called for the full implementation of the framework agreement by all parties, without selectivity.

Aoun also requested Greece’s support to help ensure the agreement is carried out, reaffirming Lebanon’s commitment to diplomacy as the sole path to ending hostilities.
