Netanyahu spokesperson: Flydubai plane incident not a hijacking

A spokesperson for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that the incident involving a Flydubai aircraft carrying Israeli passengers was not a hijacking, according to Al Arabiya.

Israeli media reported earlier today that an incident had occurred on board a Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, with around 100 Israelis on board, prompting the plane to change its course.

Israel’s Channel 12 reported that there was an alert about a “security event” on the flight, noting that the plane had departed Dubai for Tel Aviv before altering its route. Authorities are investigating whether the incident was security-related or due to a technical malfunction.
