Yemeni PM: Battlefield developments will not alter unified national goal against Houthis

Yemeni Prime Minister Shaye Mohsen Al-Zandani received a group of community leaders and officials from Al-Wazi'iyah district in Taiz province on Monday in the interim capital, Aden, to discuss the latest field and humanitarian developments amid intensified military escalation by the Houthi militia, and the resulting casualties, displacement, and impact on local residents.

According to an official statement, Al-Zandani stressed that no matter how challenging the battlefield developments become, they will not change the unified national objective in the existential battle against the Houthi militia. He affirmed the government’s support for the armed forces, security services, military formations, and all national forces on the frontlines, pledging continued backing and provision of essential needs for resilience.

The prime minister praised the sacrifices of Al-Wazi'iyah residents and all those stationed on the frontlines, offering condolences to the families of the fallen and wishing a swift recovery to the wounded. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting families displaced by the fighting and pledged to intensify humanitarian response efforts and provide basic necessities to those affected and displaced.

For their part, the people of Al-Wazi'iyah reaffirmed their steadfast national stance and support for the state and its institutions, as well as their ongoing backing of the forces stationed on the frontlines. They expressed appreciation for the prime minister’s attention to the situation of district residents, the armed forces, resistance fighters, and displaced persons.
