US Treasury chief: sanctions for those supporting Iran regime

US Treasury Secretary Scott Beissinger has affirmed that the United States will impose sanctions on anyone who continues to support the Iranian regime.

The US Treasury Department recently announced a new package of Iran-related sanctions, targeting networks that provide support to Iran's shadow fleet as well as companies servicing the Iranian aviation sector.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Treasury said the sanctions target a broad criminal network operated by Sunil Kumar Sharma and his wife, Jaspreet Preeti Shahid, who reside in India and have supported Iran's shadow fleet through maritime cyber fraud schemes.
