US Vice President JD Vance said the United States has not yet seen conclusive evidence linking Iran to the Flydubai plane incident, while noting that Washington is reviewing its procedures in the wake of the event. He also stated that the record of co-pilot Hammam Al-Hamami should have prevented him from operating a passenger aircraft.

Speaking to reporters on Monday before departing on a flight to Alaska, Vance said Washington is closely monitoring the ongoing investigation, and reiterated that no definitive evidence has emerged so far tying Iran to the incident.

Commenting on Al-Hamami, the vice president said: "Given his history, co-pilot Hammam Al-Hamami should not have been allowed to operate a passenger plane," referring to information about his background prior to joining Flydubai.

Vance added that the United States is reviewing its own procedures following the Flydubai incident, as the investigation continues to uncover the circumstances of the attack and the motives of the co-pilot.

Meanwhile, two Israeli officials familiar with the investigation said Al-Hamami told investigators he had planned the attack before being hired by Flydubai. A third source with knowledge of the probe said the suspect intended to crash the plane, which was en route to Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv.
