Pakistan PM tells Iranian interior minister: We will continue mediation role

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni that all parties must exercise restraint.

Sharif, during his meeting with the visiting Iranian interior minister in Islamabad, expressed concern over the recent escalation in the region, noting that Pakistan will continue its role as a mediator between the United States and Iran.

Pakistan intends to maintain its mediation efforts between both sides in hopes of halting military escalation and returning to negotiations based on the initial memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.
