Jordan intercepts and downs five missiles launched from Iran

The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army announced that air defense systems, as part of the monitoring and tracking network, intercepted and downed five missiles launched from Iran toward the kingdom early Wednesday, in accordance with established engagement protocols.

According to a statement carried by the official Jordan News Agency on its X platform account, the spokesperson affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces continue to fulfill their duty to protect the kingdom’s airspace and maintain its security and sovereignty, stressing that they will not hesitate to respond to any threat to the nation’s safety or the wellbeing of its citizens.

Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it had targeted a US military airbase and central command center in Jordan with ballistic missiles.

In a statement, the IRGC Aerospace Force said: “In response to the aggressive actions of the US military, which kills children, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace fighters targeted a US military airbase and central command center in Jordan with several ballistic missiles earlier today.”
