AILebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri praised Saudi Arabia's role in fostering stability.
Berri, in remarks published by Asas Media, described the Kingdom as a pillar of stability, adding, "My relationship with Saudi Arabia is historic, growing, and steadfast. Throughout my political career, I have never spoken ill of the Kingdom, as I believe in its affection for Lebanon and its commitment to the country, as well as its central role in maintaining national stability."
He continued, "I have performed Hajj three times, and on each occasion, my Saudi brothers were keen to invite, honor, and care for me. Recently, there has been intensive communication between myself and Saudi officials, especially with Prince Yazid bin Farhan, advisor to the Saudi foreign minister, who told me they support the current process and are keen to ensure its success and to follow up with Washington."
Berri also said his relationship with Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun is excellent, noting that while they may differ on some political views, they remain in constant contact. He added that before Aoun's trip to Washington, he advised him to secure a ceasefire, ensure a complete withdrawal of occupying forces, and enable Lebanese citizens to return to their villages and homes.
Saudi Arabia continues to support the stability of Lebanon and all Arab countries, consistently emphasizing the principle of "legitimate state authority," the enforcement of laws, and rejecting any roles for groups or factions acting outside the framework of the national state.
