US secretary of state: Iran has lost control of Strait of Hormuz

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Iran has continued to attack ships, particularly commercial vessels, in the Strait of Hormuz and has lost control of the waterway.

He added that the US will target anything that threatens its forces or global navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that the strait will remain open and will not fall under Iranian control.

Rubio also stated that the memorandum of understanding between the US and Tehran has expired, and that the Iranian regime will remain under pressure to prevent it from accessing funds used to finance terrorism.
