EU issues renewed call for Sudan warring parties to protect civilians

A joint European statement has renewed its call for all parties involved in the war in Sudan to commit to protecting civilians.

The statement condemned the attack on a World Food Programme aid convoy in South Kordofan, according to Al Arabiya.

The European statement added that attacks against humanitarian workers in Sudan are violations of international law.

Rapid Support Forces targeted a United Nations humanitarian aid convoy in the city of Dilling, which was en route to Kadugli in South Kordofan province. The attack resulted in the death of one person and injured two other truck drivers.
