US seeks to sow discord in Iran through sanctions, says president

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the United States is seeking to create discord within Iran through the sanctions it has imposed on the country.

Pezeshkian stressed that Iranians will thwart these conspiracies through unity, according to Asharq.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the US-imposed maritime blockade has prevented Iran from exporting oil since last July.

Last Wednesday, the US military said it had forced 86 commercial vessels to change course and disrupted three others to ensure compliance with the maritime blockade on Iran.
