Syrian security arrests former Republican Guard brigadier

Syrian internal security forces have arrested former Republican Guard brigadier Mard Mohammed, known as the "Capital’s Guard," over his military role during operations and raids in several areas of rural Damascus.

According to an official statement from Syrian internal security, Mohammed emerged as a field commander during military campaigns led by the former regime in areas including Qaboun, Al-Hameh, Wadi Barada, Qudsaya, Ain Tarma, and Jobar. He also participated in leading operations known as "God’s Promise is True."

Syrian internal security confirmed that investigations are ongoing to gather evidence related to the actions attributed to Mohammed, in preparation for taking the necessary legal and judicial measures against him.
