OIC condemns escalating Israeli actions in Gaza and occupied Palestinian territories

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli crimes and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the targeting of health facilities, residential areas, and tents sheltering displaced people in Gaza, which has resulted in dozens of civilian deaths and injuries in clear violation of international law and humanitarian law.

The General Secretariat also warned of the dangers posed by the continued and escalating settlement activities and organized violence carried out by extremist settlers under the protection of Israeli occupation forces across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem. It stressed the need for firm measures to halt these violations and crimes and to hold those responsible accountable.

The General Secretariat reiterated the necessity of compelling Israel, as the occupying power, to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and to begin implementing the second phase of the peace plan in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2803. This includes opening all crossings, ensuring the adequate and unobstructed delivery of aid, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces, while reaffirming the unity of Palestinian territory and enabling the Government of the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.
