Ambrey joins rescue of stricken oil tanker Caroline Bizengi off Oman

Ambrey Maritime Security has announced its participation in rescue operations for a stricken oil tanker off the coast of Oman, stating that rescue vessels are on their way to the site.

The International Maritime Organization said it had been informed that an oil spill from the grounded tanker "Caroline Bizengi" off the coast of Oman is drifting toward the mainland. The oil is moving off the northeast coast of Qibliyah Island, and emergency plans have been put in place to address the incident.

The organization noted that monsoon winds are hampering access to the grounded tanker, causing delays in rescue operations.

Earlier, the Omani government reported that the oil slick from the spill had reached around 400 square kilometers.
