Iraq launches intelligence probe into violations at Iran border crossings

Iraqi authorities have launched intelligence investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding breaches and violations at border crossings with Iran.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Security Media Cell, specialized security agencies have begun administrative and security reorganization at several border crossings, which has necessitated their closure.

The statement added that a series of necessary legal measures have been taken, with intensified intelligence work, investigations, and reviews to uncover the details of the violations at these crossings and to develop appropriate solutions. Travelers were advised that the Zurbatiyah and Al-Mundhiriyah crossings remain open for passenger movement.
