Erdogan hopes US Congress elections will advance regional peace

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has expressed hope that the results of the US midterm congressional elections will contribute to achieving lasting peace and stability in the region, amid ongoing wars and conflicts.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday evening during his return from South Korea, Erdogan said his greatest wish is that the outcome of the US elections will help bring peace and stability to the region.

He added: "Unfortunately, wars, conflicts, and oppression continue around us, and we want our region to enjoy peace as soon as possible."
