Iran’s Revolutionary Guard forms rapid response units amid protest fears

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is preparing for the possibility of new public protests by strengthening its rapid deployment capabilities between cities and regions, signaling a shift in how authorities may respond to unrest after recent fuel price increases.

Statements from Revolutionary Guard commanders indicate the establishment of rapid intervention units capable of moving quickly from Tehran to any area experiencing significant disturbances or protests.

The commander of the Mohammad Rasulullah Corps in Tehran said his forces have units able to deploy to "any point in the country." Recent exercises have also revealed efforts to build a reserve force to support security services and the Basij militia in Iran’s provinces.

In the same context, the Revolutionary Guard announced the "Janfeda" internal security drill in Tehran province, involving around 313,000 personnel, highlighting the scale of security preparations for any potential unrest.
