Disarmament deal could pave way for Palestinian Authority’s return to Gaza, analyst says

Political analyst Dr. Saeed Al-Qadi said that a disarmament agreement in the Gaza Strip could pave the way for the return of the Palestinian Authority to the territory and the start of reconstruction efforts.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Qadi added that the agreement would also facilitate the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the entry of humanitarian aid, the return of displaced residents, and ultimately, stability across all Palestinian land.

Al-Qadi noted that these developments would increase pressure on Israel to recognize a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

On Friday, US President Donald Trump announced that the Peace Council had reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.
