Egypt condemns Iranian attacks on Jordan and Arab states, says El-Sisi

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's rejection of Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan and a number of Arab countries.

This came during a phone call between El-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan. According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi began the call by emphasizing the special historical ties and deep popular bonds between Egypt and Jordan. He stressed that the security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an integral part of Egypt's national security, and reiterated Egypt's firm rejection and condemnation of the Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan and several other brotherly countries.

El-Sisi also expressed Egypt's full support for all measures taken by the Jordanian leadership to protect the kingdom's security, sovereignty, and the well-being of its people. He highlighted the importance of intensified international and regional efforts to reach political solutions to the ongoing crisis in the region, in order to de-escalate tensions, restore security and stability, and avoid the serious consequences of continued unrest. El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's solidarity with Jordan in confronting all forms of terrorism and extremism.
