A member of the Supreme Council of the National Coalition of Yemeni Political Parties and Groups, Safwan Sultan, has explained the reasons behind the Houthi militia’s defeat by Yemeni government forces.

In an interview with Al Hadath TV, he said, "The Houthi militia collapsed within six hours on the western coast and in some Yemeni regions because they lack control over the land and do not have popular support."

Sultan added that the "Dawn of Yemen" operation began early in the morning, and the Houthis lost in a few hours what they had gained over two months, as they have no public backing and have resorted to looting Yemenis in areas they entered.

He continued that the Houthis enter cities to loot and collect illegal taxes, while legitimate Yemeni forces now have the upper hand in the liberated areas and continue to make progress.
