Key Takeaways
AIPolitical analyst Dr. Faisal Al-Sumairi said Yemeni President Rashad Al-Alimi’s assertion that the state now holds the initiative reflects, from a military perspective, a high level of readiness among government forces to take action on the ground.
Speaking to Al-Ikhbariya radio, Al-Sumairi explained that the Yemeni army has recently undergone professional preparation and training, with new personnel selected and military plans developed to enhance the forces and provide necessary technology.
He added that the air defense system is regaining its capabilities, alongside the presence of defensive and field forces on the ground. Al-Sumairi said these developments mean the state is now positioned to fully assume its responsibility to liberate Yemeni territory.
Al-Sumairi stressed that the coming phase places on the state the responsibility to liberate every inch of Yemeni land and expel the Houthi group, which he described as a "terrorist organization." He said its aim, in his words, is to harm the Yemeni people and serve Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
