Iran says deal with Oman does not guarantee Strait of Hormuz security

Iran's foreign ministry has stated that reaching an agreement between Tehran and Muscat does not necessarily mean the Strait of Hormuz is now secure.

The ministry added that talks with Oman are professional and progressing, and a joint statement with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz is in its final drafting stage.

The Iranian foreign ministry also said that Iran and Oman have agreed on the geographical features of the planned navigation route in the Strait of Hormuz.
