Yemeni forces target Houthi positions in Taiz, launch 181 operations in 24 hours

Yemeni armed forces today targeted Houthi militia positions and gatherings on the northern front of Taiz city with artillery strikes, resulting in deaths and injuries among the militia, according to a military source in the Taiz axis.

The military source said the shelling followed surveillance of Houthi movements and build-ups north of Taiz, confirming that the armed forces will continue to respond to threats and target any hostile activity as dictated by operational developments.

Meanwhile, Houthi militia shelled villages in the Al-Ashmala area west of Taiz with artillery, though there were no reports of civilian casualties.

Extensive military operations across multiple fronts

The Yemeni armed forces announced the execution of 181 military operations in the past 24 hours, targeting Houthi group military sites, objectives, and sources of threat across various combat fronts.

Colonel Majid Abdullah Al-Nazili, official spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, said in a press statement that the operations were carried out using drones, artillery, and rocket launchers, resulting in dozens of Houthi fighters killed or wounded, and the destruction of dozens of pieces of equipment and vehicles, as well as several weapons depots and military assets.

Al-Nazili added that the operations focused on military targets, sources of fire, and capabilities used in combat operations along the frontlines, covering sectors and axes in Marib, Taiz, Al-Dhale, Lahj, Shabwa, Hajjah, Saada, Hodeidah, Abyan, and other conflict areas, confirming direct hits on designated targets.
