Turkey warns shipping companies over Black Sea security risks

Turkish authorities have warned shipping companies about security conditions in the Black Sea following a series of attacks on vessels in the area, including ships owned by Turkish firms in recent days.

Bloomberg reported on Sunday, citing official sources, that Turkey has decided to impose restrictions on commercial vessels entering the Black Sea amid growing concerns over security risks.

Ankara announced that a drone attack in the Black Sea targeted two ships belonging to Turkish companies, resulting in injuries among their crews.

Turkey has repeatedly warned both Russia and Ukraine about attacks in the Black Sea, urging the warring parties to take measures to ensure the safety of navigation in the region.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Saturday that Ankara has informed Moscow and Kyiv of the need to declare a temporary halt to attacks in the Black Sea.
