Trump jokes with Lebanese army chief Joseph Aoun at White House

US President Donald Trump joked with Joseph Aoun, commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces, during their meeting at the White House.

Trump expressed his appreciation for the praise he received from the Lebanese army chief, saying: "He knows how to speak to me, and he can get anything he wants," according to Al Arabiya.

Aoun had told Trump: "I have long looked forward to this visit and to meeting a great president like you."

The Lebanese army chief is visiting the United States to discuss several issues with his American counterpart, most notably the withdrawal of occupying forces from areas they have seized and the mechanism for ensuring that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese state.
