Trump bans CNN, MSNow and Politico from White House access

US President Donald Trump has announced a ban on CNN, MSNow and Politico from operating in the White House, effective immediately, accusing them of spreading what he described as 'fake news' in their coverage of the president, his administration, and the United States.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: "I am proud to announce that, as of now, I am banning the fake news CNN, MSNow—which recently changed its name from MSNBC due to declining viewership and credibility—and Politico, which received an illegal and ridiculous $8 million subscription, a record amount, directly from the United States government under Joe Biden, to keep it afloat. That sounds like corruption to me."

He added that media organizations "should not be able to continually write or publish fiction and lies" when reporting on the President of the United States, the Trump administration, or the country, and warned that other outlets could face similar measures.

Trump singled out Politico for criticism, accusing it of receiving $8 million in government subscriptions during the Biden administration, and linked MSNow's name change to what he called declining viewership and credibility.

The president concluded his post by emphasizing that other media organizations could also be banned from the White House in the future.
