Sudanese army announces liberation of 11 areas in North Kordofan

The Sudanese army announced on Thursday that it has liberated 11 areas in North Kordofan state as part of military operations aimed at defending the country’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

In a statement, the army said that the armed forces and supporting units carried out successful operations on several fronts, regaining control of Kajmar, Sharshar, Al-Baniyah Al-Kariniah, Al-Qulaiyat, Awlad Hazmah, Maqawlidat, Rishan, Al-Qaa’ah, Al-Laqad Forest, Al-Kawkaiti, and the area surrounding Al-Mazroub.

The statement added that the terrorist militia suffered heavy losses, with army units continuing to pursue its remnants to the outskirts of Darfur, and conducting extensive sweeps in areas west of El-Obeid city.

Military operations ongoing

The army said operations would continue until full state authority is restored and citizens are secured, with efforts to clear the areas of the terrorist militia and achieve lasting security and stability in the country.
