Southern Transitional Council announces general mobilization in southern Yemen

The Southern Transitional Council has announced its readiness for a general popular mobilization to defend southern Yemen and its national project.

In a statement, the council said it had held meetings in Aden as an expression of its national responsibility toward the people of the south.

The council stressed that the decision to mobilize aims to safeguard the south’s achievements and the goals of its liberation movement, and to protect its security and sovereignty against various threats and risks, foremost among them the Houthi militia and its Iranian-backed expansionist agenda, terrorist groups of all factions, and to resist all forms of guardianship and occupation.
