Yemeni army thwarts Houthi advance in northern Marib

Yemen’s armed forces have announced they thwarted a Houthi attempt to advance toward the northern front in Marib province.

In an official statement, the Yemeni Armed Forces Media Center said the army engaged "in recent hours, within the area of operations of the Seventh Military Region on the northern front of Marib province, with Houthi militia advances."

The statement added that the armed forces "destroyed combat equipment and neutralized terrorist groups the militia had pushed to the front lines."

It continued: "During battles that lasted for hours, the forces, with effective support from warplanes and drones, destroyed militia fortifications and broke up their advancing formations, while artillery and rocket launchers targeted hostile actions."
