Bahrain condemns renewed Iranian missile attacks on Jordan

Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the renewed Iranian terrorist attacks targeting the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with missiles, describing them as a blatant violation of Jordan's sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of civilians. The ministry said the attacks contravene international law, the United Nations Charter, and Security Council Resolution 2817, and undermine efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain's full solidarity with Jordan and its complete support for all legitimate measures taken to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. It also praised the high competence and vigilance of the Jordanian Armed Forces in intercepting the missiles and thwarting these criminal attacks, highlighting their readiness to protect the kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Foreign Ministry renewed Bahrain's call for the international community, especially the Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities by taking urgent and decisive action to compel Iran to comply with international law and the UN Charter, to immediately and completely halt its aggressive attacks, to stop supporting and arming its affiliated militias and armed groups in the region, and to ensure the security and safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways. The ministry stressed that such steps are essential to reducing escalation and tension and maintaining regional security and stability.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had earlier announced it targeted an airbase and a central command center for the US military in Jordan with ballistic missiles.
