Trump welcomes Saudi-Turkish-Pakistani joint defense pact

US President Donald Trump has expressed his satisfaction with the recent signing of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, describing the pact as a sign of closer ties among Middle Eastern countries and their growing ability to defend themselves more effectively.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said he was very pleased to see Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan sign the agreement, noting that it reflects "how the Middle East is coming together" and how these nations will finally be able to defend themselves "in a more significant way."

Trump congratulated the leaders of the three countries, calling the agreement "a major, bold, and important first step."

On August 7, a joint statement was issued following the Mecca Summit for Joint Defense between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan.

According to the statement, the agreement aims to strengthen collective deterrence against any aggression and stipulates that an armed attack on any of the three nations will be considered an attack on all. The pact also covers the development of all aspects of defense cooperation among them.
