Israeli delegation walks out during Erdogan's Gaza speech at UN

The Israeli delegation, led by envoy Danny Danon, walked out of the United Nations General Assembly hall in New York during a speech by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan focused on the situation in Gaza, urging countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so, and called for increased pressure on Israel to end the war.

Israeli diplomats stood up and exited the hall as Erdogan addressed settler violence in the West Bank and restrictions on access to holy sites in Jerusalem. His remarks were met with applause from the Palestinian delegation.

The Turkish president said the world is facing a "genocidal mentality that is not satisfied with killing," and criticized what he described as the international community's inaction in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Erdogan also criticized the decision to bar Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas from participating in the General Assembly, calling it an "injustice," and said Turkey would continue to "amplify the voice of the Palestinian people to the world."

He urged countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so, and called on nations to "increase pressure on the occupation" to end the war in Gaza.

Erdogan said the Israeli government "refuses to stop the killing in Gaza and move to the second phase of the Trump plan," criticizing the ongoing war and what he described as insufficient international action to end the humanitarian crisis in the enclave.
